The Slovakian-English publication Contemporary Drama and Performative Space: from Text to Immersive Theater brings contributions to the topic of immersive theater as a significant alternative in the field of stage creation of the new millennium. As one of the compilers of the publication, Vladislava Fekete, writes in the introduction: "No one can predict in advance what kind of experience they will create and what they will learn from the performative production." In immersive theater, the audience directly participates in the theater strategy. / The sensory experience and meaning of a specific production is different for every viewer, always immediate and always extremely intimate. The topic of immersive theater was addressed by a conference called Contemporary Drama and Performative Space: from Text to Immersive Theater/Contemporary Drama and Performative Space: from Playwriting to Immersive Theatre, which took place on May 11 and 12, 2017 during the Nová dráma/New Drama, it was organized by the Slovak AICT Center and the Theater Institute. The conference featured stimulating contributions by prominent experts and artists from Greece, Israel, Poland, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Romania and Slovakia. The anthology brings a selection of contributions by those authors who focused on the topic most intensively: Savas Patsalidis, Manabu Noda, Dagmar Čiripová, Joshua Sobol, Benny Lim, Michel Vais and is complemented by the reflections of the prominent British theaterologist, educator and theater director Gareth Whit from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama University of London, which has been dedicated to the issue of immersive theater for a long time, also with the opening words of the moderator of the conference Octavian Saia and the organizer Vladislava Fekete.
